Keith Theodore Olbermann born January 27, 1959 is an American political commentator and author. He hosts Countdown with Keith Olbermann on Current TV, an hour-long nightly program comments, and Executive Officer of the News of the Current TV network.
Olbermann spent the first twenty years of his career in sports journalism. He was a sports correspondent for CNN and local TV and radio stations in 1980, and won the Best Sports Broadcaster award from the California Associated Press three times.
After leaving Fox, Olbermann again joined MSNBC after a break, hosting Countdown with Keith Olbermann 2003 to 2011. Olbermann has established a niche in cable news commentary, noting its sharp criticism of big politicians and public figures, especially directed against the political right.
